Our first taste

Laura and Nik first ordered maple syrup from Mike and Sherry in 2010 through a very small Yahoo! Groups forum that was attempting to connect a few farmers in western PA with eaters in the Baltimore area.

At the time, there were only a few people ordering maple and the only pickup site was near BWI. A couple years later, Laura volunteered to take over the coordinating of the group order, in part because she wanted a pickup site at her own house in NE Baltimore, so she wouldn’t have to drive so far (or at all!) to get her syrup.

Steady growth and the birth of a business

Over time, the order grew into 5 or 6 pickup sites and a good number of people ordering. Mike and Sherry were glad to have an expanding market for their products and all of us down here in Baltimore were glad to have access to super delicious maple syrup at a reasonable price!

By 2016, the maple order had gotten too big for Laura to continue as a volunteer and she started working with Mike on a commission basis. Soon thereafter, Nik joined the team, putting his software development skills to work to automate the ordering/invoicing process, thereafter making both Mike’s and Laura’s lives much easier. This happy partnership between Mike, Nik, and Laura is now over 10 years strong!
